The Usability of Assessment of Motor and Process Skills for the Test of Group Program in Children With Developmental Dysfunction

Abstract
Objective : Occupational therapists for children, as a member of interdisciplinary team, are asked to define and prove their own role for occupational performance. In this study, AMPS (Assessment of Motor and Process Skills) was applied for testing occupational performance and used as tool for communication with other team members and parents.

Methods : 6 children participated in this study. One with cerebral palsy, two with developmental delay, one with mental retardation and two with Down¡¯s syndrome. Interdisciplinary group pro-gram was applied 4 times per a week. For the evaluation of occupational performance, AMPS was used.

Results : 5 children improved in AMPS motor skills and 4 children improved in process skills statistically.

Conclusion : AMPS was usable for presenting to show children¡¯s occupational performance and their changed skills through group program. The results of AMPS shared with other team mem-bers and parents. Further study is needed for generalization for other age and subjects.
